Emne: [ESCR-Right-to-Health] FW: UN Committee Adopts Position On IP And Human Rights

Dear colleagues,

I am forwarding you an article by IP-Watch on the adoption of the General
Comment on article 15 (1) (c) of the International Covenant on Economic,
Social and Cultural Rights. See the link below.

This General Comment aims to be an authoritative interpretation of the right
of authors to benefit from the protection of the moral and material
interests resulting from any scientific, literary or artistic production.

Although the final text adopted by the Committee on Economic, Social and
Cultural Rights is still not public, members of the Committee have said that
they hope the text will clarify the distinction between intellectual
property and human rights.

Best wishes,

Davinia

adopted a document intended to clarify nations responsibilities on
intellectual property and human rights. The text, while not legally
binding, could bolster legal disputes in other international and
national bodies, committee members said afterward.
