o An orientation will be provided to the process and context in which 
the day’s activities will contribute to key outputs and outcomes.

9:45–10:30 	Negotiating in Multi-Stakeholder Processes - Keynote Speaker
o Susan Nkomo, CEO, Office on the Status of Women in South Africa, 
Office of the President, South Africa
o Ms. Nkomo will offer the perspective of the negotiator who receives 
inputs from civil society and other stakeholders.  What do lobbyists 
and advocates need to do to get through to those actually negotiating 
text on national, regional and global levels.

10:30–11:00 	Change Management Perspectives in Gender Mainstreaming
o Patricia Keays, Lead Facilitator
o A brief presentation on advocacy will highlight strategies that 
support planned change, including some familiar forms of resistance and 
ways to counter them.  Buzz groups will consider their own experience 
with gender equality advocacy and lobbying both in general and in UN 
and other multi-stakeholder processes.
